Sage-ing Mentorship, sometimes referred to as spiritual eldering or wise aging, is the work available to us with a focus on one's later years. With the greater longevity of today’s generations, we have the opportunity, through meditation, journaling, and intimate conversation, to continue to grow emotionally, intellectually and, especially spiritually — even when some of our physical capacities may have declined. Key components of Sage-ing include life review, forgiveness, and creating a legacy.
Like spiritual direction, this work can be done individually and in groups, or can be integrated with individual and group spiritual direction practice.
